Quality Improvement Committee
The Quality Improvement Committee (QIC) has the delegated authority to provide oversight for all Quality Improvement initiatives and decisions including, but not limited to; policies and procedures, selection of committee members, establishment of protocols, establishment and review of referral guidelines, recommendations for practitioner disciplinary action when a provider is non-compliant with quality improvement activities.
Meetings are typically conducted quarterly and consist of nine to twelve committee members depending upon the diversity of specialty. The construction of the committee is designed to minimize overlap of specialties. Voting members are currently designees of the founding groups and representatives of other Aspen member groups. Groups Administrators will assist with the committee activities but will serve as nonvoting members.
QIC members are protected by the Health Care Quality Improvement Act of 1986 and the Medical Practice Act of Texas. The committee meets face-to-face quarterly at the GPG offices during the evening on the second Tuesday of each month.
